Dion is currently Associate Professor of Geography and Environment at Brandon University where he teaches a suite of courses in the fields of Physical Geography and Geomatics. His research interests include paleo environmental reconstruction, land cover mapping and change analysis, and terrain modelling. He has been integrating UAV technology into these teaching and research interests since 2005; including flight and ground school training in collaboration with Matt Johnson of M3 Aerial Productions.

Paul is an interdisciplinary scientist committed to innovation and effective decision making. Paul holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Manitoba with diverse experience in land, water, and ice projects in sub-tropical, temperate, and sub-artic environments. Paul is adept at the design and implementation of technology solutions to monitor and solve scientific problems in diverse landscapes over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. Paul has worked with the Canadian Space Agency,the World Bank, the Canada Center for inland waters, and on international projects funded by CIDA and the WWF.
